The zoo sees its heaviest traffic on spring weekends when Magazine Street backs up from Napoleon Avenue south to the main gate, and on school field trip days in April and May when multiple groups arrive at the same time. Charter buses and school buses use the designated unloading zone on Magazine Street at the main entrance; bus parking is available in the adjacent lot off Exposition Boulevard for extended visits.
